It really was one for the books

pastoral perfection at my parent’s house in Kingston, WA
harvesting lavender for sachets

with Ania and Andy up in Granby

Beckon

This year I’ve been rotating between City Park and South Pearl markets depending on the weather and the day.

City Park farmer's market hauls
Coho salmon, two ways (smoked and grilled)
matcha in this lovely bowl Jonathan and Regan got me in Japan!
smoked pueblo chili + poblano pepper salsa
birria tacos with consommé reduction
peach salsa, guacamole, and caprese salad

This box was also full of ants who have taken up residence in my kitchen.

Getting Started with my Continuous Glucose Monitor

I got a Levels CGM and started wearing it in mid-August

Emo Turns 7

Jason Mraz at Red Rocks

Denver Burlesque Festival at Ophelia’s

feasting our way through Denver at Hop Alley, Kini's, Hillstone, and Forget Me Not

It was 100+ out so we had to get creative with activities

It was awesome to drive up and meet my brother-in-law Jon and my niece Isabella and nephews Matthew and Daniel as they started a multi-week roadtrip through Yellowstone and out into South Dakota.

We wandered through the museum, got pastries at Wild Crumb, and enjoyed the patriotic spirit in one of America’s sweetest small(ish) towns.

ate TWICE at Little Star Diner

Our Airbnb was palatial!

And downtown Crete (??) was charming for shopping and eating out.

Winery tour and welcome with the wedding part

Dinner I made one night at our Airbnb

I loved shopping open air markets to cook a meal for our house

Wedding day dawned hot!

After the ferry and early morning drive, we were hungry and grabbed a meal at Kookoo before heading up into town to check in with our host.

Our Airbnb in Santorini was built into an old bakery on the hillside directly below the main street, and as soon as we arrived we popped into the little cave hot tub to relax and hide out in the shade.

With this view from the patio, I didn’t see any reason to go anywhere during the hot and touristy hours of mid-day. As I like to tell Kevin, vacations are just a series of beautiful places to read a good book.

We had one very fancy dinner at Restaurant MIA

our cacti bloomed in early June this year
